Edward Leslie (Les) and Mable Dixon founded the company, which began producing batteries in 1955 in a small shop on Leslie Street in Vereeniging. After That, Mr. Richard Dixon developed the company into a world-class battery manufacturer.  Today, the company is headquartered in a modern factory facility on Johannesburg Road in Vereeniging. Russell Dixon is now the CEO of Dixon Batteries, making it a third-generation company.
