The Cape Town Community Housing Company (Pty) Ltd (CTCHC) is a affordable housing institution funded and wholly owned by the National Housing Finance Corporation. The company was launched in May 1999, with the objective of gearing the institutional form of the National Housing Subsidy to achieve bigger and better quality housing for qualifying beneficiaries. It currently holds residential housing stock mainly in and around Cape Town, especially where the poor and disadvantage groupings live. The new mandate of the CTCHC is that the company must provide affordable housing through developments that cover all aspects of integrated and sustainable Human Settlements spectrum within the Province of the Western Cape.
