Calvinia Vleis is a family owned business that had its beginning in 1983 when Izak van Niekerk, who was a young farmer at that stage, decided to buy a local business in Calvinia called Calvinia Slagters. Together with his parents, Hugo and Sella, they built a business that today, more than 40 years later, has branches in Strand and Calvinia. The butcheries sells lambs that are slaughtered at our own abattoir, which is situated just outside of Calvinia. The abattoir also supplies wholesalers, retailers and butcheries all over South Africa.
