Mega Plastic

South Africa · Eastern Cape Savage Street North End Port Elizabeth 6001

Details

Mega Plastics is situated on Savage Street North End Port Elizabeth 6001

When the three Rathbone brothers put their heads together in 1987 to start Anti-Waste Drums and Containers, they committed themselves to quality, speed and reliability. The company which started with one truck, a small overdraft and no premises has grown into the largest drum-reconditioning concern in the Eastern Cape and now also services customers throughout Southern Africa.

The Port Elizabeth factory was opened in 1993, and the Cape Town branch (Consolidated Drums) was opened in 1997.

Improved technology caused rapid changes in the container industry and in 1991, Anti-Waste started supplying plastic containers from 25mls to 10 000 litres, including buckets and crates.

In 1990 a solvent refining and oil purification plant was commissioned to recycle and recover liquid waste that would otherwise have been dumped at a class one toxic dumpsite at great expense.

They are recognised as the responsible container management team with a Solution to Pollution - by reconditioning, recycling, reusing and refining as well as supplying nationally all types of packaging requirements. They are recognised and approved by the Department of Transport and Spoornet, and have become members of the Chemical and Allied Industries Association, and have close links with the international drum reconditioning community which is represented by the International Confederation of Container Reconditioners.
